OREANDA-NEWS. July 14, 2008. The Dehkanabad potash fertilizer plant will be launched in late 2009. Currently, one of Uzbekistan’s biggest investment projects is under development, reported the Official website www.investuzbekistan.uz.

The preliminary works include building of “Beshbulok-Togaitemir-Toshkurgon-Hujaipok” motor road of 46 kilometers long started last summer. The main contractor of construction works worth 24 bln soums is a tender winner, south subsidiary of “Uzavtoyul” State Stock Corporation.

The name of “Hujaipok” settlement used to remind nothing besides well-known spring of mineral water. There is potash salt deposit, Tyubegatan in the area of this settlement. The well-known heading machine in mining industry, “Ural” will work here.

After the floatation of sylvinite in a concentrator in more than 40 kilometers far from the deposit, potash fertilizer will be transported to the “Dehkanabad” station on a railroad line of 1.5 kilometers long. Here potash fertilizer will be delivered to relevant establishments and exported to foreign markets. Its annual export will embrace nearly half of total output, 200 thousand tons a year.

The project is estimated at USD 45 mln and creates 2,000 new workplaces. The problem of creating additional workplaces is really actual for the agrarian Dehkanabad district of southern Kashkadarya. Preparation works: construction of power transmission line, water supply system, optical fiber cable and motor road are in full swing in Tyubegatan.

“This year 6 bln soums is invested in the construction of 29.2-46 kilometers of “Beshbulak-Togaitemir-Toshkurgon-Hujaipok” motor road and the project is totally estimated at 9.468 bln soums,” said Normurad Yuldoshev, head of south subsidiary of “Uzavtoyul” for motor roads. “It is construction of road beds, overpasses and bridges, drilling works and maintenance of road equipment.

Our organizations: Kasan Road Repairer and Maintainer and Kitab Road Company are assisted by such subcontractors as “Kashqadaryokuprikqurilish” (bridge constructor). It is intended to build seven bridges including five new ones, taking into consideration the relief of these areas. In other words, our company is to finish all construction works by July 1, 2009, launching of the Dehkanabad potash fertilizer plant.”
