OREANDA-NEWS. July 16, 2008. The Turkmengaz State Concern announced the international tender for reconstruction of a liquefied gas storage tank in Nayip and construction of a gas storage with the capacity of 6,000 cubic meters and modernization of the liquefied gas storage and loading terminal in Gazachak.

These are the facilities of the Nayip gas-processing complex. Thus, the capacity of the gas storages in Nayip and Gazachak will be considerably increased. Within the next few months the network of new gas storage tanks supplied with up-to-date equipment will be established. The first automated processing line of the Nayip complex, which set up a new sector of Lebap economy – gas processing industry, will be reconstructed.

Recently, the firstling of Turkmenistan’s gas processing industry – the Naip gas-processing complex in the Zaunghuz Karakum celebrated its 10th anniversary. The first facility built by the specialists of the Italian Tehnofriga Company was put into operation in 1998. In the following years the Canadian Termodesign Engineering Company constructed the second and the third automated units that allowed increasing the annual designed capacity to 112,500 tons of liquefied gas and 72,000 tons of gas condensate while processing 16.5 million cubic meters of natural gas a day.

The Turkmen specialists’ professionalism and initiative enabled to increase the designed capacity of the complex up to 130,000 tons of high-quality domestic fuel. The cooling system and technological process were modernized; all of the units equipped by the leading American, German and Canadian manufacturers operate uninterruptedly. The goods produced at the Nyaip complex meet the world quality standards. Liquefied gas is exported from there to Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Iraq and many other countries. In the period, over 600,000 tons of domestic fuel produced at the Nayip complex was exported to the world market.

Since the gas-processing complex in Zaunguz is put into operation into operation it has produced hundreds of tons of gas condensate. Valuable hydrocarbon raw materials are piped to the Seydi oil-processing plant to be processed into light oil products, which are of great demand on the world market. Moreover, environmentally friendly tank gas is piped into the export gas pipeline system of the country. Thus, Naip considerably contributes to enhancing Turkmenistan’s economic strength.

Dynamic development of oil and gas industry is a priority trend of the economic policy implemented by President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov. A number of the large-scale projects initiated by the Turkmen leader and aimed at increasing gas production and processing capacity are being implemented in the Lebap Velayat and other regions of the country. Recently the Bagaja gas-processing complex in the Lebap Velayat has reached the designed capacity. In the nearest future the second turn of the Bagaja complex will be put into operation.
