OREANDA-NEWS. On July 14, 2008 Ukio bankas became member of the British Chamber of Commerce. The Bank joined the association uniting 120 Lithuanian and British companies and private persons representing finance, real estate, legal services, business consulting, hotel, logistics and other business sectors, reported the press-centre of Ukio bankas.

The goal of the British Chamber of Commerce in Lithuania is to encourage and expand bilateral business relations, exchange contacts and important information as well as to represent economic interests of the members. Ukio bankas joined a numerous organization whose members are well-known multinational companies such as AstraZeneca, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Bite Lietuva, Colliers International, Aviva Lietuva and others.

“By joining the British Chamber of Commerce we became members of a strong multinational community. With this membership Ukio bankas will not only enjoy the possibility of efficient expansion in new markets but also will represent interests of the Bank’s clients on the highest level in Lithuania and Great Britain,” said chairwoman of Ukio bankas board Edita Karpaviciene.

The British Chamber of Commerce in Lithuania has a wide network of partners. The organization closely cooperates with the British Embassy in Vilnius, Lithuanian Embassy in London, Lithuanian Economic Development Agency and other business associations, is member of international network COBCOE, joining British Chambers of Commerce in Europe.

“We welcome the oldest commercial bank of Lithuania having joined the Lithuanian and British business association that will celebrate its ten-year anniversary next year and expect a mutually beneficial partnership,” said head of the British Chamber of Commerce in Lithuania Ieva Stakenaite.

The Chamber organizes regular meetings with top managers and specialists of Lithuanian and British state institutions and companies; issues quarterly BCC Paper, which reviews business topicalities, activities of the members, and bilateral cooperation experience. It also provides information and assistance to its members and other stakeholders, participates in charity programmes.
