OREANDA-NEWS. On July 15, 2008 Mikhailovsky GOK (a subsidiary of Metalloinvest Holding) was awarded the first prize in the 7th contest "Metals and mining enterprise of high social responsibility" in the category "Personnel development", reported the press-centre of Metalloinvest.

The annual contest is held by the Metals and Mining Industrialists Association of Russia and the Executive committee of the Russia’s metals and mining trade union.

The contest is held with the aim to examine and disseminate the best corporate social responsibility practices among the enterprises working in the field of ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy, gold-mining and jewelry. Now Mikhailovsky GOK is to take part in the similar All-Russian contest among enterprises of different industry sectors.

The chairman of Mikhailovsky GOK trade union Igor Kayukhin mentioned that the award is a high estimate of the mill’s activities, which demonstrates a well-structured social policy and its ability to accomplish the determined targets; it is also a trust-worthy indicator of the mill’s stable and effective work and development.
