OREANDA-NEWS. On 18 July 2008 was announced, that Antonov ASTC takes part in the 46th international air show which started in Farnborough, the suburb of London, on July 14, 2008.

ANTONOV takes part in the exhibition in order to demonstrate the possibilities and experience in development of cargo and passenger aircraft, transportation of oversized and super heavy cargoes as well as further development of the cooperation on perspective programmes. Delegation of ANTONOV ASTC conducts meetings with the representatives of a number of the leading foreign companies. In particular, negotiations with AVIC II Chinese aircraft building corporation and THALES European company had already taken place. Further it is planned to work with the such worldwide known firms as EADS, HAL, GECI International, AVIC I, Embraer.

Within the limits of the exhibition ANTONOV’s delegation intends also to discuss the development of cooperation with the enterprises of Russia Federation. So, it is planned to define concretely interaction on the programme of renewal of serial production of AN-124 Ruslan, the famous cargo airplane. Another vector of the development of the Ukrainian –Russian relations is strengthening of interaction in the sphere of cargo transportations. For that it is foreseen to introduce the possibilities of Antonov Airlines, Volga-Dnepr companies and also Ruslan-SALIS and Ruslan-International ones to the managers of the ministries of defence of the European countries.

On July 15, in Farnborough a press conference of Dmytro Kiva, General Designer of ANTONOV ASTC have taken place. Mr. Kiva introduced to the world aviation community the programme of design and promotion to the world market of AN-148-200, a new aircraft of the AN-148 family having passenger capacity enlarged to 99 seats. Another new version of AN-148 the General Designer announced about, is ABJ (ANTONOV Business Jet) intended for flights of VIP at a range of up to 7000 km. These programmes, represented on ANTONOV stand in Farnborough attract a real interest of business visitors of one of the most prestige world air show.
