OREANDA-NEWS. On 21 July 2008 was announced, that JSC “The Seventh Continent” June 2008 trade sales increased 37% YoY and 1H 2008 trade sales increased 34% YoY. The sales growth in the hypermarket format for June 2008 reached 71% YoY and 63% for 1H 2008 respectively. The growth in regional sales reached 70% YoY in June 2008 and the growth in regional sales for 1H 2008 reached 65%.

Based on management accounts the Company’s June 2008 gross retail sales[1] reached USD  148 mn. and increased 37% and 1H 2008 gross retail sales reached 882 USD  mn. and increased 34%.

As of the end of June 2008 the Company managed 137 stores, including 128  supermarkets and 9 hypermarkets.

As of the end of June 2008 the selling space of the Company’s stores under the brands “Seventh Continent” (supermarkets), “Nash Hypermarket” (“Our Hypermarket”) and “Prostore” amounted 168,4 th. sq. m. and increased 18% YoY.

During June 2008 the Company opened 2 new stores in the “Seventh Continent – Next door” format in Moscow. Total selling space of the 2 opened stores is about 1 250 sq. m.

From the beginning of the year 2008 the Company opened 10 new stores including 3 hypermarkets.  Selling space increased by 21,5 th. sq. m., including the 16,6 th. sq. m. in the hypermarket format.
