OREANDA-NEWS. July 22, 2008. The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) summed up the materials and the outcome of the inspections of the federal executive bodies carried out in the first six months of 2008. Such inspections are organized on a regular basis to verify compliance with Article 15-21 of the Federal Law "On protection of Competition", reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

During the period in question, the inspection boards formed by the officers from different departments of the Central Office of FAS Russia inspected 10 federal executive bodies: the Federal Customs Service, the Federal Agency for Tourism, the Ministry of Civil Defense, Emergencies, and Liquidation of the Consequences of Natural Calamities; the Federal Forestry Agency; the Federal Agency for Culture and Cinematography; the Federal Railway Transport Agency; the Federal Agency for Sea and Inland Water Transport; the Federal Agency for Communications; the Federal Agency for Sport and Physical Culture; and the Federal Water Resources Agency.

The inspections studied regulatory and non-regulatory legal acts of the authorities; contracts and agreements concluded with economic entities; communications with subordinate bodies and organizations; as well as financial and other documentation.

Antimonopoly violations were revealed in all inspected authorities. Usually they were related to privileges and benefits offered to individual economic entities or to the rights and functions of the executive bodies vested to economic entities.

Most of the discovered antimonopoly violations have been voluntarily eliminated by the authorities.
