OREANDA-NEWS. July 24, 2008. A group of specialists of Rosenergoatom Concern have taken part in the overhaul of the 2nd unit of Tianwan Nuclear Power Plant (China). More specifically, they have provided the local personnel with engineering and consultative support.

The program of the overhaul included disassembly-assembly and refueling of the reactor, the repair of the turbine, the steam generators, the exciter, the relay protection system, inspection of the safety and control systems, the main circulation pump and high-voltage equipment. The unit was restarted on July 11.

Rosenergoatom Concern has developed the direction of operational engineering since 2007. Next year, in accordance with its agreement with JNPC, Rosenergoatom Concern will start providing Tianwan NPP with operational engineering support on a regular basis.

Tianwan NPP is situated in the province of Jiangsu, China. It operates WWER-1000/428 reactors and К-100–6/3000 turbine generators. The two units of the plant were commissioned in 2007.
