OREANDA-NEWS. July 28, 2008. The company will lay a total of 90km of lightning protection wire with built-in fiber-optic cable with a view to ensure the stability of the electricity supply of Stary Oskol (Belgorod region) and nearby areas.

The replacement of the old system will enhance the safety and the efficiency of the line while the built-in fiber-optic cable will ensure stable exchange of information between the control points of the Stary Oskol sub-station, Novovoronezh NPP and the regional division of the System Operator of the Unified Energy System.

The Novovoronezh NPP-Stary Oskol power transmission line was launched in 1976. It transmits power from Novovoronezh NPP to Stary Oskol and its manufacturing companies – electro-metallurgical works and ore mining and processing combine.
