OREANDA-NEWS. On 28 July 2008 was announced, that green zones are to be set up in the centre of Moscow, on the plots where the dilapidated houses have been demolished.

“Sergey Baydakov, prefect of the central administrative district of Moscow, announced the decision not to develop several plots where the dilapidated houses have been demolished. Green zones are to be set up instead of houses on Kalanchyovskaya Street, Mashkova Street and Bolshaya Sadovaya Street,” a press service of the northern district of Moscow said.

According to it, the total area of new green plantations will exceed a hectare.

In total there are 41,000 sq m of flower gardens, 752 flowerbeds on lighting poles and 712 flowerbeds on elevations of buildings in the centre of Moscow.
