OREANDA-NEWS. August 04, 2008. Ukrainian mining and smelting enterprises increased production of cast iron, steel, finished steel and coke, in January-July 2008, but they reduced production of pipes by seven percent, fabricated metal products - by nine percent, the Industrial Policy Ministry informed.

Production of cast iron and finished steel upped by four percent to 25,931million tons and 21,741 million tons respectively.

Production of coke increased by eight percent to 12,723 million tons, while production of pipes reduced by seven percent to 1,499 million tons, and production of fabricated metal products dropped by nine percent to 233 thousand tons.

Over seven months, mining enterprises upped production of iron ore by six percent to 47,503 million tons, iron ore concentrate - by eight percent to 37,828 million tons, prepared iron ore raw materials - by two percent to 43,067 million tons, including agglomerate - by two percent to 29,596 million tons, pellets - by three percent to 13,471 million tons.
