OREANDA-NEWS. August 05, 2008. As it was informed in NBM, the increase in this indicator is due to the growth of the balance of deposits in the national currency by 250.4 million leis, or 1.8%, as well as the balance of deposits in foreign currency by 138.3 million leis or 1.5%.

The balance of at-side deposits amounted to 6604.6 million leis, increasing by 46.2 million leis. The share of at-side deposits amounted to 28% of the total deposits in the banking system, reducing in comparison with the previous month by 0.3 points.

The amount of term deposits in MDL declined by 98.7 million leis and totalled 1508.5 million leis. The decrease of this indicator is due to reduced volume of term deposits of individuals by 49.9 million leis, or 3.8%, as well as deposits of legal entities by 48.8 million leis or 16%.

As of late June, the balance of term deposits in MDL amounted to 9638.3 million leis, increasing by 191.2 million leis, or 2% in the result of growth of deposits of individuals by 185.7 million leis, or 2.3%, as well as deposits of legal entities by 5.5 million leis, or 0.4%.

In June, 2008, the balance of term deposits in foreign currency grew by 151.3 million leis, or 2.1%, reaching 7312 million leis.

In June 2008, the amount of term deposits in foreign currency totalled 1394.7 million leis (USD 138.4 million), increasing as compared with the previous month by 15.6 million leis, or 1.1% due to the growth of deposits of individuals by 38.7 million lei, or 3.4%. At the same time, deposits of legal entities decreased by 23.1 million leis, or 9.3%.
