OREANDA-NEWS. August 06, 2008. The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) initiated two cases against "Koltsovo" Airport" OJSC and "KD-avia" OJSC for violating Part 1 Article 10 of the Federal Law "On Protection of Competition" (abusing dominant market position), reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

The cases were initiated upon a petition of "S7" ["Siberia" Airlines"] OJSC.

"Koltsovo" Airport" OJSC and "KD-avia" OJSC occupy dominate position on the market of services for aircraft arrival and departure and air transportation service. The companies violated the law by engaging into the actions that restrict or may restrict competition on the market of passenger air transportation on the Moscow-Yekaterinburg-Moscow route and on the Moscow-Kaliningrad-Moscow route and (or) by infringing the interests of "Siberia" Airlines" OJSC.

In particular, "Koltsovo" Airport" OJSC and "KD-avia" OJSC violated the antimonopoly legislation by refusing to enter into the contracts for ground and airport servicing of the aircrafts of "Siberia" Airlines" OJSC in Yekaterinburg (Koltsovo airport), that intended to have regular flights on the Moscow-Yekaterinburg-Moscow route, and in Kaliningrad (Khrabrovo airport), where "Siberia" Airlines" OJSC intended to have regular flights on the Moscow-Kaliningrad-Moscow route.

The cases against the air carriers will be processed in September 2008.
