OREANDA-NEWS. August 08, 2008. Due to the introduction of new tariffs, the self-cost of domestic air transportations is expected to increase by 5% - 7% respective of the length of the route and type of plane, the press service of the Transport and Communications Ministry reported, citing aviation company calculations.

The draft order of the Transport Ministry on endorsement of tariffs for air-navigation services introduces a single tariff for international and domestic flights, which is fully in line with Article 15 of the Chicago Convention.

This measure was to be taken after Ukraine obtained membership of the European organization for air navigation safety.

In keeping with the currently valid Transport Ministry order of March 10, 2006, pay of USD 50.96 was set for the navigation of international flights, and USD 20 for domestic flights.

The draft order introduces a single tariff of EUR 37.26, which is USD 58 at the National Bank exchange rate.

Under the draft order, the new tariff will take effect on September 1, 2008. The last say is with the Justice Ministry.
