OREANDA-NEWS. On 15 August 2008 was announced, that the city authorities of Moscow intend to complete the overhaul of the roads in the Russian capital, including the MKAD, by August 25.

According to Andrey Tsybin, head of Department of Housing and Urban Improvement of Moscow, it was planned to overhaul 7.4 million km of roads, 5.6 among them are currently being repaired.

“I promise that we will have the Moscow roads overhauled by August 25. Particularly, a lot of urban routes, such as the MKAD, where we are working on the inner and outer ring roads, will be repaired,” Mr Tsybin said.

Besides, the official added that new traffic lines would be marked on 3,400 km of the roads in Moscow.

In total, there are about 90 million sq m of road bed in the Russian capital.
