OREANDA-NEWS. On August 14, 2008 the Rostov Office of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (OFAS Russia) initiated a case against "TZK-AVIA" CJSC for breaching Article 10 of the Federal Law "On Protection of Competition" (abusing dominant position on a goods market) in terms of fixing monopolistically high goods prices for aviation fuel, the press-centre of FAS Russia reported.

The case was initiated upon inspection of business activities of "TZK-AVIA" CJSC organized by Rostov OFAS Russia.

"TZK-AVIA" CJSC is the only company refueling aircrafts for "Rostov-on-Don Airport" OJSC. From 18th November 2007 to 16th June 2008 the cost of aviation fuel sold by TZK-AVIA" CJSC increased from 19660 to 33230 Rubles per ton (with VAT). In certain periods the profit gained by "TZK-AVIA" CJSC increased its expenses for reselling aviation fuel twofold or more.

The hearing is scheduled for 5th September 2008.
