OREANDA-NEWS. August 18, 2008. The New Eurasia Foundation’s (FNE) Far Eastern Affiliate in Vladivostok and the Administration of Primorsky Krai co-hosted the Asia-Pacific Forum on social investment in the Russian Far East, reported the press-centre of Eurasia Foundation.

Entitled Prosperity of the Far East through Partnership, the forum was held within the framework of the second Pacific Economic Congress to popularize corporate social responsibility (CSR) and provide businesses with an opportunity to learn more about local and international practices.

Opening speeches were presented by Ljubov Drozdova, Vice-Governor of Primorsky Krai, Tom Armbruster, U.S. Consul General in Vladivostok, Masayoshi Kamohara, Consul General of Japan in Vladivostok and USAID representative Irina Lindberg, among others. During the plenary meeting, speakers presented various models of social investment in the Asia-Pacific region, discussed trends in social investment in the Russian Far East and their views of the role of business in the territories social development.

FNE’s CSR program in the Russian Far East aims to foster links between NGOs and businesses in the region and conducts trainings and biweekly seminars aimed at business managers.
