On August 19, 2008 Kazakhtelecom (Astana, further - the Company), shares of which are traded in the official list of Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE) of category "A", provided KASE with the pres release, according to which on August 15, 2008 celebration of 10th anniversary of Astana telecommunications center was held, the press-centre of KASE reported.

Chairman of the Management Board of the company A. Zhumugaliev, deputy Akim of Astana V. Krylov, First Deputy Chairman of City Affiliate of Nur Otan P. Kazantsev, Chairman of Professional Union of Telecommunications Workers of Kazakhstan U. Batsariev and others took part in the solemn event.

"Astanatelecom - is a dynamically developing affiliate of Kazakhtelecom, established in February 1998 on the basis Akmola regional telecommunications units, the affiliate has significantly contributed into telecommunications development of the capital, and offers a wide variety of services to its residents", - the press release says.

In 10 years Astana telecommunications capacity increased by 95,880 telephone numbers, and net digitalization level grew 54 %, installation capacity as on August 1, 2008 totals 186,507 numbers (100 % digital), operating capacity - 148,634 numbers. Of 148,085 numbers, including apartment numbers - 120,885, growth made - 91,371 numbers, including apartment numbers - 74,248.

According to the message the following projects have become most significant:

- construction fiber telecommunications lines for organization of the main transportation ring SDH;

- construction of Metro Ethernet data transmission network, providing services of high speed access to the Internet (4176 ADSL ports);

- building NGN (New Generation Network), serving as basis for providing set of  telecommunications services by means of evolutionary transfer from traditional nets with commuted channels to commuted packages networks;

- implementation of "undeniable service" system, which should ensure 100-percent satisfaction of orders on telephone installation;

- introduction of non-barrier servicing of customers and "one window" principle operation in own service network.
