On 21 August 2008 X5 Retail Group N.V., Russia's largest retailer in terms of sales, announced that the annual national charity program “Perekrestok Goes to School!” has been launched for the fourth time.  The program is supported by the  Moscow City Department of Education  and the Moscow City Government.

This year the “Perekrestok Goes to School!” program will be held in more than 180 Perekrestok stores  in 40 Russian cities.  96 schools with highest score from our customers  will receive the  grand prize  -  a fully equipped new computer class.  Schools that are runners-up will receive computers, copiers, printers, scanners, multimedia projectors and interactive chalkboards.  Over 580 schools will get valuable prizes and gifts this year.

Perekrestok customers can vote for their favorite schools in several ways:

 By making purchases at Perekrestok stores.  The number of points a school gets depends on the value of the purchase.
 
 Club Perekrestok card holders can transfer their Club points to the account of their favorite school at a rate of 1 Club point = 10 “Perekrestok to the Schools!” points. To transfer your Club Points and for additional information on Perekrestok Club, please visit  http://www.shkolam.ru/

 Through the Internet portal MAIL.RU.  All users of the national network My Мир@Mail.Ru can fill out the “Secondary Education” form in the “Education” section of their profile and register to participate in the program.  Detailed information can be found at  http://mir.mail.ru
