OREANDA-NEWS. August 25, 2008. 600bln RUR will be allocated for introduction of high technologies in Russia by 2010, says Prime Minister of Russia Vladimir Putin.

“We have never spent so much before,” Putin said during a conference on the development of science and education on Wednesday.

“We also have a five-year fundamental scientific research program worth 250bln RUR. It is supposed to boost the development of our science, to enhance its competitiveness and, certainly, to raise the efficiency of the use of scientific achievements for the sake of the social-economic development and national security of our country,” Putin said.

Besides, in 2009 Russia is launching a federal target program “Scientific and Scientific-Pedagogical Personnel of Innovative Russia.” This program is supposed to receive over 80bln RUR.

“We expect this program to substantially enhance the professionalism of our researchers and to stimulate the inflow of young scientists,” Putin said.
