OREANDA-NEWS. On Aug 19–20 2008 a delegation of Rosenergoatom Concern and 7 Russian NPPs visited Loviisa NPP (Finland) so as to familiarize themselves with the results of its 12-year performance without maintaining K-220–44/3000 turbine and to see the turbine’s corrosion coating developed by Telatek Oy.

The delegation comprised representatives of Kalinin, Leningrad, Kola, Smolensk, Novovoronezh, Kursk and Beloyarsk NPPs.

The visit was part of the agreement for cooperation on maintenance and repair of the turbines and auxiliaries of Russian nuclear power plants with the use of Telatek Oy’s technology.

Representatives of Telatek OY presented their corrosion coating technology, allowing significantly reducing turbine maintenance time. The Russian delegates were able to see the coating and to watch how turbines were coated.

In 2007 Teletek Oy coated turbine blades for Kola NPP and guaranteed that the coating would serve flawlessly till 2012. The Russian NPPs have shown keen interest in this technology.

Telatek Oy is an engineering company that has steel workshops in Raahe and Taivalkoski. Raahe Workshop has specialized in coating and maintenance technology. In Taivalkoski Works there are manufactured demanding, heavy steel components and aluminium structures for off-/onshore and process etc. industries.

The working strategy of Telatek is to develop the necessary machining and coating techniques which increases the working life time and reliability of machinery.
