OREANDA-NEWS. August 25, 2008. CJSC Transmashholding’s sales amounted to almost 42 billion Russian roubles (US 1.72 billion) in the first half of 2008, which is 36% higher y-o-y 2007, reported the press-centre of Transmashholding.

The sales growth involved every key product group of the holding company. Locomotive sales saw a considerable increase: sales of main-line electric locomotives increased from 96 to 159 sections (+66%), and sales volumes of main-line diesel-electric locomotives and diesel-locomotive shunters grew from 27 to 43 sections (+59%) and from 74 to 94 sections (+27%) respectively.

The sales of road-rail buses saw a 79% boost from 14 to 25 units, while those of locomotive-run passenger cars saw a 30% growth from 445 to 579 cars. Customers received 1,240 freight cars in the first half of 2008 as compared with 967 cars in early 2007 (+28%). Diesel engine sales also increased by 27%: a total of 334 locomotive-type and marine diesel engines were sold.

CJSC Transmashholding’s enterprises paid a total of about 4 billion Russian roubles’ (US \\$163.6 million) worth of taxes to budgets of various levels and extra-budgetary funds in the first half of 2008.
