OREANDA-NEWS. August 27, 2008. The exhibition of works by the Uzbek artists “Poetry of ornament” dedicated to the 17th anniversary of Independence of Uzbekistan opened at one of the prominent venues at the Chinese capital of Beijing - “Shash”, the Uzbek style artistic chaikhana (‘the tea house’), reported the press-centre of Uzbektourism.

The works by well-known Uzbek artists, painters, graphic artists and video art specialists such as D.Akhunbabaev, V.Useinov, S.Abaturov, E.Kambina, Ya. Salpinkidi and others were demonstrated at the exhibition in new halls specially equipped on such occasion.

The diplomats of foreign states accredited in Beijing, prominent state, public and political figures, representatives of various organizations, as well as journalists of leading Chinese mass media participated at the event.

The visitors to the exhibition highly assessed the level of works of the Uzbek artists which reflected on the ancient and rich culture of Uzbekistan, its unique ornamental arts organically blended with modern artistic elements.

The exhibition has well resonated in Chinese mass media. In particular, in its report dedicated to this cultural event the “Lookwe” magazine wrote:

“The unique artistic, graphic and video art of Uzbekistan is demonstrated at the “Shash” art-restaurant. The visitors to the event learned about diverse and colorful Uzbek ornament, national music which added to the exhibition yet another unique national coloring.

With their unique works of art the Uzbek artists showcased not only the beauty of landscape of their Homeland, traditions, centuries-old canons of the nation but also helped visitors to feel invisible but such connection between past and present of the Uzbek people – the one so vividly sensed by master.”
