OREANDA-NEWS. August 27, 2008. In the first half-year the airliners of Uzbekistan Airways performed 11 219 flights, carried 959 377 passengers and also the cargo transportation growth was reached. Altogether, it transported 11, 8 tons of cargo. New flight from Urgench to St. Petersburg and additional flight from Samarkand to Moscow are opened. Uzbekistan Airways increased the frequency of flights to Krasnodar, Rostov-on-Don, Sochi and Baku, reported the press-centre of Uzbekistan Airways.

The company has concluded new interline agreements with foreign airlines. The code-share agreements with Malaysian Airlines, Indian Airlines and Air Baltic are prolonged.  

It was made a special emphasis on the work at joining Uzbekistan Airways to SkyTeam Airline Alliance and establishing of the Regional logistic center on the basis of Navoi Airport with Korean Air, the agreement on Code-share is also working out with it.

By the results of the discussions of the assigned questions at the Council of Uzbekistan Airways the decisions were made, in which the additional measures are determined for the unconditional securing of the most important priorities of the economic development, safety and profitability of Uzbekistan Airways flights.
