OREANDA-NEWS. On August 29, 2008 Kazakhstan’s PM Karim Massimov met Rachid Mohamed Rachid, Minister of Trade and Industry of Egypt, in the Government House in Astana, reported the Official website http://en.government.kz.

They discussed current state and development prospects of Kazakh-Egyptian bilateral relations, focusing on such areas as trade, light industry, S&MBs and agriculture. Besides, they also touched upon matters concerned with the upcoming second meeting of the Kazakh-Egyptian Business Council.

Background information:

According to Kazakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs, commodity turnover between the two states (mainly exports) exceeded USD 233 million for the period of January-May 2008. While in 2007 it made up only USD 76 million, with export responsible for USD 66 million and import – for USD 10 million.
