OREANDA-NEWS. September 1, 2008. The National Exhibition of the Russian Federation in Turkmenistan symbolically named Economic Growth and Mutually Advantageous Partnership opened in the Turkmen capital became the brightest symbol of Turkmen-Russian co-operation enhanced with every passing year.

The large-scale exposition arranged at the Ashgabat Exhibition Centre is not only the demonstration of Russia’s huge economic and industrial potential standing nowadays as one of Turkmenistan’s strategic partners but also an open platform for establishing closer business co-operation between the state-run and business organisation of two friendly countries.

The fact of holding the exhibition impressing with both scale and significance testifies to the qualitatively new stage in the relations between the neighbouring countries achieved due to the goodwill of both peoples, the will and efforts of the leaders of the two countries heading for overall expansion and enhancement of multilevel co-operation.

The exhibition anticipating a regular meeting of the intergovernmental Turkmen-Russian commission for economic co-operation is organized by the RF Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan with the assistance of the Negus Expo company.

The high-ranking officials of the Mejlis, cabinet ministers, the heads of the diplomatic missions accredited to Turkmenistan and the international organisations and numerous guests including the specialists of the foreign companies took part in the opening ceremony.

Both Turkmenistan and Russia attach special significance to the remarkable events that Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Dmitriy Medvedev focused on in the welcoming statements to participants and guests of the forum.

Dozens of the business meetings and talks which were continued in the offices of the sectoral ministries and departments and turned into the plans of future co-operation had been held on the first day of the exhibition

For the first time in the history of independent development of both states the Russian companies illustrate so vividly and fully the industrial, economic and investment potential accumulated over the years. 16 regions of the Russian Federation sent their delegations to Ashgabat!

The pavilions with the expositions arranged by over 120 large companies from Altai, Bashkortostan, Chuvashia, Volgograd, Nizhniy Novgorod, Ulyanovsk, Penza, Tyumen, Omsk, Samara, Saratov, Sverdlovsk, Chelyabinsk Oblast, Moscow and St. Petersburg occupy all the floors and open-air area of the Exhibition Centre. The versatile exhibition is an opportunity for Turkmen businessmen to get qcquinted with products and services offered by Russia’s leading enterprises of various patterns of ownership

The equipment, products and technologies presented at the Exhibition provide insight into the opportunities of further collaboration in the whole spectrum of fields: from science intensive industries – automobile and aircraft construction, production of agricultural equipment, industrial and consumer electronics, telecommunication services to consumer’s goods.

The Volgograd and Ulyanovsk Oblast, Altai made the presentations of the achievements and economic potential in the conference hall of the Exhibition Centre. The Russian businessmen showed interest in establishing long-term mutually advantageous co-operation with Turkmenistan.
