The Ukrainian side was represented by specialists of Energoatom, Rivno, Khmelnitsky, Zaporizhia and South Ukrainian NPPs, the Russian side – by the heads of the decontamination departments of Balakovo, Beloyarsk, Kalinin, Smolensk, Kursk and Novovoronezh NPPs, representatives of Rosenergoatom Concern, VNIIAES, the Federal Medical-Biological Agency, RADEZ-2 LLC, Super-Technologies CJSC, Elastomer LLC, Ektos-Atom, Saturn and other companies.

Novovoronezh NPP was selected as venue for several reasons: it is one of the oldest nuclear power plants in our country, it has big experience in the field of decontamination, it is presently preparing to decommission two of its units and the other plants will be able to see how it will do it.

The conferees discussed newly introduced requirements and standards, draft methods for film coating of big non-recyclable solid radioactive waste, new decontamination systems used for the preparation of a reactor for decommissioning, new detergents of Russian manufacture and the results of their testing at Novovoronezh NPP.
