OREANDA-NEWS. On 03 September 2008 was announced, that Moskomarkhitektura suggests building 3 new railway stations in Moscow which will be the departure points for trains going to Europe as well as in the eastern and southern directions.

“High-speed trains must come to Moscow. We plan to place 4 lines in operation: Moscow – St Petersburg, Moscow – South, Moscow – East and Moscow – West,” Aleksandr Kuzmin, head architect of Moscow, said. According to him, the primary goal is to construct 3 new railway stations which will be able to receive high-speed trains. “We suggest building a railway station at Kalanchyovskaya Square, the second one – at Zastava Ilyicha and the third one – within MIBC Moskva-City,” the official specified.

Mr Kuzmin added that it would be necessary to set the railways up again for providing the high-speed railway links.

“Having launched a high-speed railway service, for example: Moscow – Berlin, we will be able to reach Eastern Europe in 8 hours,” the head architect of Moscow added.
