OREANDA-NEWS  On 05 September was announced, that City Hall decided to have all paid-for parking places located on the road borders in Moscow removed starting from September 10. Such car parks will remain only near the railway stations.

“All paid-for parking places are to be removed from the streets of Moscow by September 10. So, the car owners won’t have to pay for parking on the road borders. The paid car parks will remain only near the railway stations in the city,” Viktor Pchelovodov, deputy head of Department of Housing and Communal Services and Urban Improvement of Moscow, said.

According to the official, 3,992 paid-for parking places in 116 car parks located along the roads are currently operating in Moscow. When they have been removed, there will be only 15 car parks with the total capacity of 1,285 vehicles in the Russian capital.

“There won’t be anyone wearing a uniform and gathering money for parking in Moscow starting from September 10. Sometimes it is very hard for car owners to identify a legitimate parking attendant because all of them wear a uniform with special badges. Therefore we decided that no one would be able to come to a car owner and ask him or her to pay for parking on the roads of Moscow,” Igor Khokhalyov, CEO of the state unitary enterprise City Service of Paid Car Parks, noted.

“Anyone who will come to you for getting your money for parking, no matter what is written on the uniform, is a swindler,” Mr Khokhalyov emphasized.
