OREANDA-NEWS  On 08 September was announced, that less than a week is left till the “cultural capital” of Russia, St. Petersburg, will welcome the International exhibition of Calligraphy. Despite this ancient art had long been forgotten in Russia, public interest for the project proves that it is in demand and keeps pace with the time.

Since the very first days the project has been supported by public and governmental organizations. One of these days MVK International Exhibition Company received the letters from the St. Petersburg Department of contemporary art and international cultural links of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, Committee for science and higher education and Committee for press and cooperation with mass media. All three emphasized high cultural and social importance of the project for the country in general. Committee for press and cooperation with mass media focused on the handwritten Constitution of the Russian Federation and added that “the handwritten Constitution will make a significant milestone in the history of Russian book printing and Russian statehood”. Emphasizing the culturological significance of the project Committee for science and higher education recommended the students and professors to visit the large exposition and events of the project’s cultural programme which also include calligraphic master classes.  Department of contemporary art and international cultural links of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation refers to the project as the one “deserving attention and support”.
