OREANDA-NEWS. September 09, 2008. According to the National Statistics Office’s data, 52.1% of the total export volume (50% in January-July 2007) falls to the share of EU countries.

At the same time, import from European Union states totaled USD1 bln. 234.2 mln. (40.7% more than in January-July 2007) making up 44.4% of the total import (45.8% in January-July 2007).

The following countries were Moldova’s major export partners in the EU in January-July 2008: Romania (USD 190.5 mln., 1,7 times up), Italy (USD 102.3 mln., +30.9%), Germany (USD 44 mln. – 1.9%), Poland (USD 30.2 mln., +28.1%), Great Britain (USD 23.8 mln., +17.8%).

For the first seven months of 2008, Moldova imported production from the following EU countries: Romania (USD 354.9 mln., +60.4%), Germany (USD 213.9 mln., +26.5%), Italy (USD 188.2 mln., +26.9%), Poland (USD 68 mln., +55%).
