OREANDA-NEWS. September 09, 2008. Prices of foodstuffs reduced by 2.2%, those of industrial goods – by 0.6%, it was informed at the National Statistics Office.

At the same time, tariffs for services rendered to the population rose by 5%. In particular, price of cucumbers reduced be 51.8%, fresh vegetables – by 17.3%, fresh fruit – by 13.8%, eggs – by 4.9%, potato – by 3.1% in August.

At the same time, prices of meat production and half-finished products, sour-cream and honey increased by 2% each.

The following industrial goods became more expensive: natural gas in cylinders – by 11.1%, backpacks – by 2.5%, writing materials – by 2.3%, goods for children – by 1.7%. In August, the growth of tariffs for gas amounted to 22.5%, water supply and sewerage – by 15.1%, electricity supply for common consumers – by 11.9%.

The total inflation since the beginning of 2008 amounted to 6% (in August 2007 the inflation rate amounted to 7.3% against December 2006). Inflation for the last 12 months (August 2008 against August 2007) made up 11.7%.
