OREANDA-NEWS. September 10, 2008. Director General of Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation Sergey Kiriyenko and Governor of Kransoyarsk region Alexander Khloponin visited construction site of Zheleznogorsk TPP.

Kiriyenko familiarized himself with the process of construction and heard the joint report of the Director General of Rosatomstroy Artyom Butov and Director of Krasnoyarsk branch of the concern Valery Poylov about financing, expenses, personnel, ecological safety and other problems.

They said that the first launching complex was to be ready in early 2009. The operational turning of the main equipment of the first launching complex is scheduled for June 2009, of the second launching complex – for Aug 2009.

Since the beginning of the construction Rosatomstroy has made contracts worth USD 250mln, which is half of the total cost of the project.

Right after the visit of Kiriyenko and Khloponin, the parties to the project held an operational conference. Director General of Rosatomstory Atyom Butov said that the key tasks for the fourth quarter of 2008 were keeping the high pace of the construction, completing the construction of the steam boiler, installing the main equipment of the first launching complex, completing the construction of the equipment cooling and heat supply systems, completing the construction of the process and drinking water supply system, testing water pipes, 110Kv power transmission line and fuel conveying system.

In order to effectively implement the abovementioned tasks Rosatomstroy is planning to increase its personnel to 280 people and to recruit new contractor organizations.
