OREANDA-NEWS On 09 September was announced, that the reconstruction of two boulevards, Strastnoy and Nikitsky, was completed in Moscow by City Day.

“We have done the work in such a way that the layouts of these historical areas remained the same. The renewed boulevards are to become the best present for all of Muscovites and visitors to the Russian capital timed to City Day,” Sergey Baydakov, prefect of the central administrative district of Moscow, said.

According to the official, the reconstruction of Strastnoy and Nikitsky boulevards comprised the substitution of a surface on the foot paths for more up-to-date one made from small granite and concrete slabs and the installation of an automatic water distribution system. New street lamps and small-scale sculptures have also been placed within the boulevards. Their entrance areas are equipped with the special ramps for disabled and handicapped people.
