OREANDA-NEWS  On 16 September was announced, that users of Lattelecom’s digital television services will have access to a time shifted TV service also known as an archive of broadcasts, which will allow users to watch any show or film that has been shown during the previous five days at their own leisure. The archive will contain broadcasts from five broadcasters – LTV1, LTV7, LNT, TV3 and TV5. This is the first service of its type to be offered by a digital television operator in Latvia.

“This archive is another unique service that we are offering in Latvia to Lattelecom TV clients,” says the director of Lattelecom’s Content Business Division, Toms Вbele. “It is an addition to other innovations that we offer – the ability to record broadcasts, as well as virtual video rentals. I think that now that people are becoming accustomed to the ability to form their own media content, it is just the right time to offer them the chance to watch broadcasts whenever they want to.”

For the first month, until October 10, the time shifted TV service will be available to Lattelecom TV users for free so that they can learn about the new service. Afterward it will cost LVL 1 per month. Digital television users will still be able to record broadcasts from the five television channels and then watch them at their leisure at no additional cost to themselves.
