OREANDA-NEWS On 23 September was announced, that NК "RussNeft" gained a record high rate of production output at the lateral well of Roslavlskoye oilfield in Western Siberia.

High production performance became possible due to a large-scale program on the use of modern methods of oil production, including lateral drilling, carried-out by the Holding.

Thus, drilling of the lateral well № 1008 on the west of formation BC8 of the eastern bank of Roslavlskoye oilfield showed a record high rate of production output – 908 Cubic metres of dry crude oil. Herewith, the length of the lateral well bore made 334 metres, construction time and putting of well on production - 41 days.

Production volume far exceeds similar results obtained both in the lateral wells and in those ones, where traditional methods of oil production were applied in the oilfields, belonging to the Company in West-Siberian region.

In 2008 in the very same oilfield there was drilled lateral well № 1003 with current yield of more than 806 Cubic metres of dry crude oil and well № 1002 with yield of 360 Cubic metres.

High performance was determined by the accurate calculation made in three-dimensional hydrodynamic model of the oilfield, and application of new methods of geo-steering.  In future NК "RussNeft" is also going to actively apply modern technologies at planning and drilling of lateral wells.
