OREANDA-NEWS. September 23, 2008. President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev has decreed to award Minister of Energy of Russia Sergey Shmatko the Order of Friendship, reports the web-site of the Kremlin.

Shmatko was appointed as Energy Minister on May 12 2008. The award has been granted to him for his outstanding services.

Before the appointment Shmatko was president of Atomstroyexport CJSC and deputy Director of Atomenergoprom OJSC.
