OREANDA-NEWS  On 25 September was announced, that "Central Generation" Division was created within the structure of CJSC Integrated Energy Systems (IES-Holding) to provide reliable power supply to the Nizhny Novgorod, Vladimir, Ivanovo and Penza Regions and the Republic of Mordovia. It was reported at the press-conference by Executive Vice-President of IES-Holding - Head of "Central Generation" Division Vyacheslav Kramarenko.

The press-conference was held on September 11 at the "Russian Strategic Resources" conference of the 13th International Scientific and Industrial Forum "United Russia".

Vyacheslav Kramarenko explained that "Central Generation" Division was created to manage assets of OJSC Territorial Generation Company No. 6 (TGC-6) after IES-Holding won the tender for acquisition of the state-owned stake of TGC-6 in the spring of 2008 and then became the sole executive body of the company. Currently the division comprises 14 heat and power plants, one state district power plant (GRES), three boiler houses. The installed electric capacity of "Central Generation" Division is 3,112.5 MW, the installed heat capacity is 10,688.8 Gcal/h.

According to Vyacheslav Kramarenko, three large investment projects are being implemented in the Nizhny Novgorod Region: reconstruction of Igumnovskaya HPP and Sormovskaya HPP and construction of a new power unit with 300 MW output at Novogorkovskaya HPP. Initially it was planned that this power unit would be installed at Nizhegorodskaya HPP, however, due to certain reasons, its construction cannot be started before 2009-2010, after all issues with land allocation are settled. V. Kramarenko said that at the moment the issue of site transfer for putting additional capacity in operation in the Nizhny Novgorod power center had been finally approved by Valery Shantsev, Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

According to Vyacheslav Kramarenko, the possibility for construction of a new thermal station in the Vyksa District to satisfy the needs of Vyksa Steel Works was considered at the meeting with the Nizhny Novgorod Region Governor. The head of "Central Generation" Division also said that primary investigation for this project will be completed by November.

V. Kramarenko announced that "Central Generation" Division is now finishing preparation for the heating season. According to the Division head, repair operations are performed in accordance with the schedule. Amounts of backup fuel exceed standard values. "By October 1 our plants and trunk heating networks will be completely ready for operation in the autumn and winter period. Heat and electric power will be generated in volumes sufficient for peak loads that can happen in the regions under the Division's responsibility," - said Vyacheslav Kramarenko.
