OREANDA-NEWS. September 29, 2008. SibCOTES’ Quality Management System (QMS) has been successfully audited for compliance with the International Standard ISO 9001:2000. Based on the recent audit by the International Testing & Certification Company SGS, it was concluded that the Quality Management System utilized within SibCOTES fully complies with the ISO standard, enablingSibCOTES to retain ISO 9001:2000 certification.

SibCOTES was first certified in 2005 for an initial 3-year period.Since then it has been successfully proving its QMS adherence to the International Standard.

The following areas were audited: EPCM; development of design estimates for the construction and rehabilitation of power plants, boiler plants, electrical transmission grids and steam heating networks; engineering, design, and commissioning of boiler and turbine equipment, balance of plant (BOP), electrical installations and substation power grids; energy conservation auditing.

SGS acknowledged the high level of QMS development in SibCOTES including the wide application of 3D design software, implementation of laser scanning at an initial stage to provide project engineering deliverables. The auditor also highlighted the depth of expertise in the Chief Engineers and Project Managers ranks.

International engineering practices have proven that the application of the International Standard ISO 9001:2000 is an effective tool for efficient quality management within a company leading to improved competitiveness, while maintaining good conditions for growth and investment.
