OREANDA-NEWS. September 29, 2008. COMCOR-Region, the carrier of the AKADO Telecom trademark, has announced the completion of another network expansion phase in the region of Moscow. Now that fiber optic trunk lines are in place to Istra, Noginsk, Friazino and Dmitrov, the AKADO Telecom network spans 50 towns and communities in the region.

The company has invested RUR70 million in the project so far, building its multi-service fiber optic grid with state-of-the-art imported equipment: Huawei Q85xx routing switchboards at sub-mainline level, and Huawei S56xx and Edge-Core S3528WDM switchboards at access level. The technology employed by the network — IP/MPLS 10GE and Metro Ethernet – guarantees top broadband quality and access to any kind of service. The system is also equipped to retransmit terrestrial TV beams.

In its new host cities, AKADO Telecom will provide high-speed data transfer, broadband Internet access, corporate network integration (VPN) and data security services to a broad cohort of users: local telecom operators, government institutions, major, small and medium-sized businesses. COMCOR-Region treats each customer individually, customizing its services to meet every user’s specific needs. Customized solutions are offered to every user category: operators, home networks, technoparks, logistics terminals and corporate centers.

Moscow-based companies increasingly tend to relocate their industrial facilities, warehouses, offices and retail outlets outside Moscow. The exodus of high-paying jobs from the capital promotes more housing construction and new home starts in the region, driving demand for telecommunications services.

“Moscow’s region is Russia’s No. 3 fastest growing market after Moscow and St. Petersburg,” said COMCOR-Region CEO Aleksander Grigorian. “In the Moscow Region, corporate customers are more inclined to demand turn-key service. At this point, our infrastructure and network coverage are sufficient to offer “one-stop” service packages to all businesses, big and small.”

The regional communities next in line for AKADO Telecom are Klin, Pavlovsky Posad, Electrostal, Narofominsk, Klimovsk, Chekhov, Serpukhov, Bronnitsy, Kolomna, Voskresensk, Yegorievsk, Stupino, Kashira, Sofrino and Sergiev Posad. At the same time, the company will complete the interlinks and backup lines that support its mainlines. The new fiber optic “ring” will extend 30 to 40 km outside Moscow. The investment program will run from 2008 through 2011.
