OREANDA-NEWS. September 28, 2008. Ukraine registered all necessary documents for participation in the work of the International Center on Nuclear Fuel Enrichment in the city of Angarsk (Russia), Minister of Fuel and Energy Yuriy Prodan told a conference within the 6th International Energy Forum in Kyiv.

"We hope that both Russian and Kazakh partners will hold these procedures (concerning participation in center's projects) on the project by late 2008," the minister underscored.

Prodan noted that Ukraine does not consider participation in the work of the International Center on Nuclear Fuel Enrichment in Angarsk the only way for own uranium enrichment. "We also take up the possibility of participation in other projects on uranium isotopic enrichment," he said.
On September 18, Russia gave Ukraine a draft contract on participation in establishment of the International Center on Nuclear Fuel Enrichment in the city of Angarsk.

The project envisages Russia's share of no less than 49% and another part should be divided between other participants.

According to Yuriy Prodan, Ukraine's share should be no less than Kazakhstan's one which is now 10%.

The concern Nuclear Fuel of Ukraine is supposed to participate in the project of the International Center on Nuclear Fuel Enrichment.
