OREANDA-NEWS. On September 29, 2008 The First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Olexandr Turchynov took part in a ceremony of signing a contract for the building of a new terminal of the Boryspil Airport.

According to Olexandr Turchynov, inking of the contract for the building of the new terminal in the Boryspil Airport is a significant step for the whole state. “Ukraine is a transit and European state, consequently, increase of air transportation appears a strategic line of its development,” he said.

The First Vice Premier reminded that after ratification by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in 2005 of an Agreement on rendering by the Government of Japan a credit line for the development of the Boryspil Airport, within the three years the project had, in fact, been frozen. “Only after forming of the new Government, in fact, for half a year, this project has been realized,” Olexandr Turchynov emphasized.

A peculiar attention on the part of the First Vice Prime Minister was paid to the fact that realization of the mentioned project has proved possible “after fair, transparent and open competition which was won by the best among the competitors – Dogus Insaat Company.

Olexandr Turchynov expressed his belief that signing of such a contract would reinforce relations between Ukraine, Turkey and Japan. “This will enable our state to use the potential in aviation domain in full,” the First Vice Premier added.
