OREANDA-NEWS  On 01 October was announced, that the oil and gas company KazMunaiGas Exploration Production won the title as the best Kazakh corporate website with a score of 48, followed by Kazakhmys with 43.25 points and ENRC with 32.25 points.

The results from H&H Webranking Kazakhstan are now published in Kursiv. Kazakh H&H Webranking survey, now in its second annual edition, highlights that Kazakh companies’ ambitions in online communication have increased since last year, but still have some work to do in order to match up to their Western European peers.

The survey shows that kazakh companies have increased their score since last year. KazMunaiGas Exploration Production, has for instance improved its results with 40.75 points which is the largest overall improvement in H&H Webranking’s 11 years of history. Yet, a clear market leader still is missing in Kazakhstan, with no company breaking the 50 points mark. The average score in Kazakhstan was 34.08 points (out of a total of 100 points) compared to the 150 largest companies in Europe that had an average score of 57.9 points in 2007.

One major factor that is contributing to the weak performance of Kazakh corporate websites is their international approach, which currently not is at the same level as many of the Western European company websites reviewed. This includes not only making the language clear and simple, but also providing understandable mechanisms for navigating within and between pages. Clear labelling will maximize accessibility and usability. One element that was missing from many corporate websites is a section covering the next calendar event. This lack of information is common on most of the companies included in the Eastern Markets survey.
