OREANDA-NEWS  On 02 October was announced, that the Board of Lietuvos Energija AB approved new prices of electricity transmission service, tariffs as well as the draft procedure of their application and submitted them to the National Control Commission for Prices and Energy (NCCPE) for revision and validation.

The draft stipulates that starting from the beginning of the coming year the price of electricity transmission service will be 3.84 LTc/kWh (excluding the price of capacity reservation service and the price of public service obligations).

”The price indicated in our proposed draft is lower than the price cap calculated under the new methodology proposed by NCCPE“, - says Mr.Darius Masionis, General Director of “Lietuvos Energija“. According to him, the price increase results from the fact that next year the transmission system operator is going to face higher losses and therefore electricity to compensate technical losses in high voltage grids will have to be purchased in the power market likewise other players of this market.  Moreover, transmission system operator will have to ensure a reliable supply of electricity for Lithuanian consumers and the implementation of strategic projects (interconnections with Poland, Sweden and UCTE).

The final prices and tariffs of electricity transmission service as well as the procedure of their application will be made public by the NCCPE.
