OREANDA-NEWS  On 03 October was announced, that Bulatovo Ltd., an enterprise recently set up in Bogotol District of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, completed fall cultivation of lands. Currently, in this subsidiary of OJSC PAVA about 5,000 ha of old fallow soils are cultivated. These lands hadn’t been ploughed for 5 or even 8 years. That is why growers drive soil-cultivating complexes out to the fields 2-3 times - so that the next spring, after herbicide treatment, cereals could be sown without difficulty. Powerful up-to-date soil-cultivating complexes “Rubin” not only destroy the weeds, but also level the soil. This is especially important considering that modern tractors and seeding machines will be followed by combines of the same class. And it is a well-known fact that combine ‘Mega’ demonstrates maximum efficiency only on a perfectly even field.

However, the team at Bulatovo Ltd. is determined to work not for ostentatious records, but for quality and good results. Even and weed-free fields are now the primary goal for growers in Bogotol, Bolsheuluisk and Achinsk districts, where PAVA arable units are situated, as this is an indispensable condition of getting a large crop. It has yet to take a lot of effort in order to harvest maximum high-quality crops from long-neglected fields. This would involve clearing fields out from tall grasses, timely herbicide treatment, planting quality seeds in soils requiring good care. Five powerful US tractors and two seeding machines, already owned by the enterprise, are waiting for the spring campaign. During spring and summer, modern sprayers and combines will be added to the technical fleet of the enterprise.

This purchase, as well acquisition of all the other machinery carried out by the arable units, was supported by PAVA – the largest grain processor not only in the Altay Territory but also throughout the Asian part of the country. Development of independent agricultural production is a guarantee of feedstock security for Achinsk flour mill. This enterprise is among large mills in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, and at the same time – a large structural unit of the company, therefore PAVA is actively developing grain growing in this region, investing money and time. Significant current and future investments into machinery, soil-cultivating aggregates and seeds demonstrate that. It should be noted that well-deserved reputation of a large, rapidly developing company allows PAVA to attract significant credit resources along with financing from the company’s own funds.

Field operations in PAVA’s arable units in the Krasnoyarsk Territory will be conducted up until winter snows. Now, tractors and soil-cultivating complexes are being transferred to the fields of Bolsheuluiskoe Ltd.; afterwards, they will be working in Achinsk district on the lands of Prichulimsk Ltd., comprising about 5,000 ha. In these enterprises lands are in quite the same condition, uncultivated for many years. Elite rye has already been sown here in autumn – the planted area amounting to 500 ha. Sorts of the seeds were selected carefully, relying upon advice of scientists and agronomists with vast experience of working in this region.
