OREANDA-NEWS  On 03 October was announced, that on September 27 PAVA held its first corporate orienteering tournament. This sports festival was to celebrate the company’s birthday: in September PAVA turned 9 years. “We have just started a new tradition: from now on, our company’s birthday celebrations will include sport events”, said Andrey Igoshin, President of the Company, addressing himself to the participants.

The festival proved interesting and eventful. Over 100 people toed the starting line: 5 teams, represented by employees from the headquarters, as well as the company’s structural units and subsidiaries. Delegation from Rebrikha flour mill was the biggest.
The distance wasn’t excessively complicated and long; however, the overall aim didn’t amount to simply finding the checkpoints as is the usual practice of orienteering. At every checkpoint of the route the sportsmen were given tasks requiring dexterity, vigilance, strength, and sometimes - no small courage. Apart from running they included shooting from air pistols, darts, rope crossing.

Each team successfully made it to the finish line, overcoming all the obstacles. Rebrikha mill, headed by V. Strelchuk became the winner of the tournament – they were awarded the challenge cup and a box of champagne. However, not only the champions showed good results – each team were only a few minutes behind their rivals. The leaders shared their deserved prize with all the participants.

The final part of the event, which was just as important, was the debut performance of PAVA’s musical band “Monni div”, formed a couple of months before the event. Participants of the festival were excited to hear their songs.

“This sports tournament dedicated to the company’s birthday proved one more time that such events are necessary. They unite the employees, create warm and friendly atmosphere. It is the commitment of the team, where every person is aware of their share of responsibility for the company’s success, that helps us achieve such outstanding results and rapid development”, commented Andrey Ananin, OJSC PAVA Director General.
