OREANDA-NEWS  On 06 October was announced, that BTA Bank mandated HSBC Bank plc to advise its Board of Directors and senior management on its strategic expansion to become the leading private financial services group in the CIS with a unique pan-regional reach.

HSBC’s mandate will include a detailed strategic review as well as assistance to BTA bank in the implementation of its strategic plans. "We announced recently that by 2030 BTA will become a leading international financial group. We have studied the experiences of such groups for quite some time now. On of the best examples of sustained growth in the last few decades has been HSBC, who remain leaders even in the face of the current turmoil in the world’s financial markets. With HSBC’s help, we are going to strengthen our position where we already do business and develop it in new markets, too", said BTA’s Chairman of the Board Mukhtar Ablyazov.

According to its existing strategy, BTA Bank plans to capitalize on its vast experience in Kazakhstan and the CIS and use a wide network of strategic partners and subsidiaries in order to become a global financial services leader offering the full scale of banking and insurance products to both its corporate and its retail customers.

BTA Bank’s development strategy until 2015 envisages further consolidation and geographical expansion whilst maintaining at least a 25% market share in Kazakhstan and growing market share in Russia to at least 2% and in other CIS markets to at least 5%.
