OREANDA-NEWS. October 6, 2008. KAMAZ Trade and Finance Company presented a transport complex consisting of KAMAZ-65221 truck tractor and six semitrailers designed for transportation of various goods.

An all-wheel drive truck tractor KAMAZ-65221 (6x6) is heavy-duty due to its off-road capability. Disk wheels which are bigger than those on other production models contribute to it. The prime-mover of 27 tonnes GVW and with admissible load on the fifth wheel of up to 17 tonnes is equipped with KAMAZ-740.50-360 Euro-3 diesel engine with turbocharging and aftercooling of 360 h.p. A gearbox ZF 16 and a range of other auto components by the leading world producers are installed on it.

The latest models of semitrailers developed by the KAMAZ partner – OAO Novosibirsky Auto Repair Plant – were presented for the audience. The enterprise has got a forty years experience of complete overhaul of vehicles and production of trailing equipment for construction industry and other economic sectors.

One of the most interesting exhibits at the presentation was a side semitrailer-short logger 981311-02. It is designed for transportation of cargo of up to 40 tonnes under bad conditions of the northern and Siberian roads. This semitrailer with a two-level metal floor is 14-meter-long and 2.5-meter-wide. The semitrailer is an all-purpose vehicle which can transport oversized cargoes (e.g. building boards) along with conventional cargoes and also large amounts of timber. It should be mentioned that the semitrailer is equipped with special baskets for extra wheels with rollers and a loading winch.

Undoubtedly, a semitrailer-dumper 951030-01 intended for transportation of bulk cargo of up to 40 tonnes will be useful for enterprises of construction industry. The dump truck is a welded metal construction with the use of low-alloy steel. The trailer is also equipped with an awning for cargo and also a convenient ladder. The increased body space enables to transport low-density cargo (coal, clay, grain). Components by the leading world companies – Penta, Jost and BPW – are used in the construction of the trailer. The use of the European components guarantees the highest quality of the vehicle.

Another model of special equipment is a semitrailer 9718HA – 01 with a tent designed for transportation of goods with shelter from precipitation. A rigid front wall and rear doors and also dismountable side walls and a roof in combination with drop sides enable to load and unload with forklift or through the roof with the help of a crane. Back swinging gates in conjunction with a 40-millimeter-thick plywood floor enable loading with the help of a two-tonne-heavy loader. All this makes the semitrailer with a tent an all-purpose vehicle.

Besides, a tank semitrailer for transportation of light oil and black products of up to 40 cubic meters PPC-96226-03 was presented for the audience. The tank is notable for good workmanship, economy in use and also high reliability under hard road and natural conditions.

Transport complexes are a kind of one truck tractor coupled with semitrailers of various purposes. The organizers of the presentation named lesser purchase, maintenance and repair costs, reduced costs for fuels and lubricants and also decreased tax assignments (road tax, profit tax, estate tax, etc.) among advantages of their operation.

There were developed another two models of semitrailers. Together with the models demonstrated at the presentation they make a multipurpose transport complex solving all queries of large motor transport enterprises engaged in transportation of various goods. This helps them to form their own vehicle fleet on the basis of one Russian model, thereby slashing operation costs.
