OREANDA-NEWS. October 06, 2008. On late September 2008, Kuibyshev Refinery launched production of Euro-3 diesel fuel with 0.035% sulfur content, which is almost 6 times lower compared to the fuel previously produced under Russian environmental and process standards, reported the press-centre of Rosneft.

With the improved core property, Kuibyshev Refinery’s Euro-3 diesel ensures extended engine life and strict compliance with international environmental requirements.

In the framework of shifting to Euro-3 fuel production, the refinery invested more than RUB 275 million in upgrading its diesel fuel hydrotreatment unit, constructing additive tanks and injectors, and purchasing top-of-the-line laboratory equipment.

In October 2008, Kuibyshev Refinery expects to produce approximately 20,000 tonnes of the new diesel fuel; the refinery’s total Euro-3 diesel fuel capacity currently stands at 60,000 tonnes per month.

In 2009, Kuibyshev Refinery plans to start producing Euro-4 diesel fuel with cetane-boost and antiwear additives, and Euro-3 gasoline with detergent additives. The use of modern additives will allow significantly enhancing all key fuel characteristics.
