OREANDA-NEWS. October 8, 2008. The development and industrial implementation of the high-carbon rolled wire production technology of the Belarusian Steel Works (BMZ) has been nominated for the Belarusian state prize in science and equipment 2008, BMZ First Deputy Chief Engineer Maksim Murikov told reporters on October 7.

The introduction of the high-carbon rolled wire production technology will help launch the production of metal cord constructions necessary for the tyre output. The major goal is the manufacture of products that meet the standards of the best world analogues. The domestic production even surpasses them in profitability, Maksim Murikov said. He asserted that the rolled wire production is unique, the BMZ know-how.

As a result, the output grew from 150 thousand tonnes up to 450 thousand tonnes in 2008. Due to the high-quality rolled wire, the BMZ hardware production developed over 50 new highly-efficient types of metal cord.
